HB Sablotny Leads 22 Survivors After Day 1B

Another full day of action was played to its conclusion at the MSPT Season 15 $1,110 Hollywood Casino Main Event.

The second of three flights drew 208 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 341, and with that number, the $300K GTD has already been surpassed with one flight remaining.

Of those 208 entries, only 22 players remained when chips went into bags with HB Sablotny securing the final elimination of the night to take the overall chip lead (609,000) into Day 2 thus far.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Matthew Lawrence (569,000), Greg Wood (461,000), Mark Hagan (404,000), and Lucas Poelker (347,000).

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five which include MSPT Hall of Famer Aaron Johnson (334,000), February’s fourth place finisher Abhishek Yerra (332,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz (270,000), two-time MSPT champ Bobby Noel (267,000), MSPT all-time casher DJ Buckley (177,000), and inaugural MSPT Hollywood champ Umut Ozturk (134,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 14 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 10:40 p.m.).

Yesterday’s starting flight saw Matt Foster bag a top stack of 472,000, leading the 14 players who advanced from a 133-entry field, and the 22 players who make it through today will join that group on Sunday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. for Day 2.

WazWaz Straightens Out Neighbors for a Late Night Double

Gabe Neighbors raised from middle position and MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz called from the button, bringing about a flop.

Neighbors check-jammed after WazWaz tossed out a 20,000 bet, and WazWaz called off his remaining 72,000 stack.

“All right, keep it clean”, Neighbors said after he rolled over top set and saw WazWaz held a double gutter straight draw.

The turn did come clean with the but the river not so much as the fell competing WazWaz’s straight and secured his late-night double.

Melissa Smith Wins Second Trophy of Series

For the second time season, the MSPT made its way to St. Louis, MO and players have been duking it out over the past week inside the Hollywood Casino for its nine-trophy event series!

In Event #5: $300 Pot-Limit Omaha, 76 four-card specialists took to the tables, and in the end, it was Melissa Smith who claimed the top spot to take home her second Spadey trophy of the series!

Schroeder Doubles Through Derousse with Cowboys

Derek Schroeder raised all in for 71,000 from middle position and Joseph Derousse went over the top from the button giving him isolation.

Schroeder was ahead holding a made hand of kings but the flop came with a sweat as it gave Derousse more outs with a Broadway draw.

Luckily for Schroeder, neither the turn nor the river improved Derousse hand and secured his double-up.

Bartlett Out Kicked by Yerra

Trey Bartlett open-jammed from the cutoff and Abhishek Yerra looked him up from the big blind.

The MSPT Returns to Ameristar East Chicago August 27th - September 2nd!

For the first time this season, the MSPT is headed to the Ameristar Casino Hotel in East Chicago, Illinois from August 27th - September 2nd for a 10-event trophy series!

Last season, the MSPT made its inaugural stop at the Ameristar in August which set a high bar with the Main Event attracting 841 entries which saw Illinois native Marc Bernal capture his first MSPT title along with a cool $130,822 first place prize.

The next trip saw the MSPT come into town just before Old Hallow's Eve and attracted another 557 runners which saw MSPT Hall of Famer Blake Bohn capture his record-setting fifth Main Event title enroute to a $113,146 payday to become the defending champion.

Season 14 Main Event Final Table Results

The 10-event trophy series will start on Tuesday, August 27th and a series of $100, and $265 satellites will feed into the headlined $1,110 buy-in MSPT263 Main Event, which requires players be 21+ to play.

The tournament holds a $300K GTD and will offer four starting flights with Day 1a beginning Thursday, August 29th with a Noon start time.

Day 1b will take place at the same time on Friday, August 30th, with Day 1c following suit on Saturday, August 31st, and Day 1d on Sunday, September 1st.

The surviving players from all starting flights will return at 11:00 a.m. on Labor Day Monday and will play down to a winner.

Also, on that Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m. will be the $125 Flip 'N' Go with 1 in 10 players receiving a $1,100 satellite entry into the $1,100 Milestone satellite which will award a direct entry into the $10,400 WPT World Championship held in December!
