MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz Leads 21 Advancing Players After Day 1B
Created (9/6/2024 10:15:51 PM by Anthony Thompson)

Another full day of action occurred during Day 1b the MSPT $1,100 Main Event at the Venetian Resort with almost 15 full levels coming to completion.

The second of three flights drew 182 runners and brought the two-day total thus far to 279 with one flight remaining.

Of those 182 entries, just 21 players remained when pens went to slips and it was none other than MSPT Hall of Famer Rob WazWaz who found himself atop the counts with 425,000.

WazWaz brought some of his “WazPure” with him to Vegas finding the top spot on one bullet this flight and will bring a top stack into Day 2.

Following hot on WazWaz’s tail was Triet Nguyen who ended the night with the elimination of MSPT champ Chris Moon to put 417,000 in his bag while MSPT champ Veerab Zakarian (381,000), George Heim (380,000), and Patrick Troung (344,000) rounded out the top five stacks.

Much like Day 1a, the final level of the night saw an onslaught of casualties, with players such as Ben Palmer and MSPT champ Moon among those to be eliminated before play concluded for the night with chips flying all across the remaining tables in the final level of play that led to a lot of players riding roller coasters with their stack sizes before becoming official for the evening.

Several other familiar players will also be joining the aforementioned five. Taylor Black (338,000), MSPT champ ”Scary” Terry Fleischer (278,000), WSOP bracelet winner Dylan Linde (172000), MSPT Hall of Famer Aaron Massey (141,000), and DJ Buckley (135,000), are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 11 to have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those not as lucky at the felt included Kathy Liebert, Matt Affleck, Michael Rossitto, MSPT champ's Matthew Schulte & Dan Sepiol, with at least a few if not all of them likely to be seen back in action for the final flight.

The final starting flight for the Main Event is tomorrow starting at 11:10 a.m. local time.

Everyone who makes Day 2 will return on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. to play for the Season 15 MSPT $1,110 Main Event Title.

Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Day 2.

We will be back tomorrow for coverage of the Day 1c right here on MSPTPoker.com from the Venetian Las Vegas!
