Day 2 of the MSPT Season 16 $1,600 Poker Bowl IX at the Venetian Resort saw 99 players return to action on Sunday in hopes of making the streamed final table of seven and after roughly ten hours of play, that mark was hit in Level 28 with 10:23 left remaining at 50,000/100,000/100,000
Leading the charge with a healthy 8,810,000 is MSPT champ Kfir Nahum who has over double the stack size of Richard Green who sits second in with 4,535,000.
Nahum has been in this position before, winning the second-ever Venetian Poker Bowl back in 2018 and has positioned himself well to make another run for a second title going into Monday’s Day 3.
Anthony Scarborough
Anthony Scarborough was able to get a couple late double ups to climb into third place with 3,820,000 while two-time bracelet winner Dan Heimiller clawed his way back into contention bagging 3,390,000 for a fourth place stack to take into the final day.
Stanley Weng (2,535,000), Alex Kim (2,260,000), and Michael Ung (1,435,000) rallied into Day 3 but will have an uphill battle when the lights take the stage.

Day 2 Action
The final day came back with 99 players already in the money, so action kicked right into gear with John Ypma being eliminated in the first hand of the day while MSPT’s top casher DJ Buckley followed him to the payout cage shortly after.

After Buckley hit the deck, a flurry of “payouts” could be heard throughout the room, as handfuls of players were walking to the payout table which included the likes of four-time bracelet winner Jeff Madsen (66th Place – $4,298), MSPT Hall of Famer’s Rob WazWaz (57th Place - $4,737) & Aaron Massey (48th Place – $5,284) and WSOP bracelet winner’s Nick Pupillo & (42nd Place - $5,964) & Joseph Cheong (31st Place - $6,813) all hit the deck before the three table redraw.

The final three tables were stacked with WSOP hardware with bracelet winner’s Mitchell Halverson (23rd Place - $9,205), Stephen Song (22nd Place - $9,205), Ryan Leng (21st Place - $9,205), and Francis Anderson (17th Place - $13,019) all fell in quick succession of each other while 2025 MSPT ICON Kyna England fell on the final table bubble (10th Place - $19,250).

Final Table Action
Just as the final table was being set, Brian Meadows jammed his short stack into the middle, only to be hooked by MSPT champ Daniel Sepiol’s made hand of jacks.
A few hands later would see two-time bracelet winner Heimiller and Scarborough duke it out in a battle of the blinds which saw Scarborough come out in top with a crucial double, sending Heimiller to the bottom of the counts.

The hit didn’t seem to faze Heimiller, as he found a quick triple-up with trip eights and then followed with another double through Sepiol with pocket aces shortly after.
Tides were then turned for Sepiol as he fell to the bottom of the counts and unlike Hemiller, he wasn’t able to spin-up his short stack as he was eliminated in eighth place by Ung ending play for the evening.
The final seven players will now get day's rest to enjoy Superbowl Sunday and will return to action on Monday, February 10th at Noon, to play down to a winner which will be live streamed in the brand-new streaming studio!
Make sure to be a part of history at The Venetian Poker Room as they will unveil their brand-new streaming studio produced and distributed by PokerGO!
