Srivinay Irrinki Holds the Top Spot After 17 Players After Day 1B

A lengthy day of 16 Levels has wrapped up during the MSPT Season 16 100 GRAND STACK Series $1,110 Main Event at Sycuan Casino & Resort as Day 1b drew another 154 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 236, making sure the $300K GTD will be eclipsed with tomorrow’s final starting flight.

Of those 154 entries, only 17 players remained when chips went into bags, and it was Srivinay Irrinki who went on a late-night heater to bag the top stack.

Irrinki was able to spin up an average stack to 2,375,000 to put in his bag at the end of the night edging out Jamie Dalupan (1,815,000) for the overall stack thus far.

Jerric Jiang secured the final elimination on the night to bag 1,290,000 while Richard Spirra (1,270,000), and January’s Regional champ Mo Pourmandi (1,260,000) rounded out the top five stacks and were the only other players to clip the milly mark.

Others who found a Day 2 berth during this flight included WSOP bracelet winner Brad Gafford (870,000), Lam Nguyen (815,000), Rip Fritzer (730,000), Matt Salsberg (590,000), and the MSPT top casher DJ Buckley (235,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the 10 others who have already advanced from Day 1a.

Among those to try and fall on Day 1b included MSPT champ Kyna England, January’s runner-up Brad Miller, Susan Millstone, Austin Lake, and Bret Eberhart, just to name a few.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. local time, and it will be the last chance for players to punch their ticket into Sunday's Day 2.

Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 10:40 p.m.) Make sure to tune in to see who makes it through to Day 2.

MSPT champ Gianluca Pace was all in preflop for 270,000 from the button and Jerric Jiang looked him up from the small blind.

Salsberg Trips Up Jiang for Survival

Matt Salsberg raised under the gun and Jerric Jiang defended his big blind to see a flop.

Jiang check-called a continuation bet from Salsberg, and then did the same for 65,000 after the fell on the turn.

Once the completed the board on the river, Jiang checked one last time only to call Salsberg’s 225,000 all-in bet.

Salsberg then rolled over for trip nines and it was good as Jiang released his hand into the muck.

Tai Purpero Collects the Final Bounty

Over the past week, players have been inside Sycuan Casino & Resort duking it out for the MSPT 100 GRAND STACK Series in San Diego, CA.

In Event #5: $250 No-Limit Green Chip Bounty, 139 hunters took to the tables as bounty collectors and created a $28,000 prize pool that paid out the top 15 players.

Among those to cash but fall before the final table included Taylor Shepard (10th Place - $427 + Bounties), Peter Aran (12th Place - $427 + Bounties), Igor Iskiev (13th Place - $354 + Bounties), and Jake Long (15th Place - $354 + Bounties).

In the end, it was Tai Purpero who came away with the ultimate win to take down the lion's share of the prize pool along with the 100 GRAND STACK Series trophy!

John Ciccarelli opened with a raise under the gun only to call Hesam Samarghandy’s 78,000 three-bet jam from the small blind.
