Luke Nguyen Bags 1B Top Stack Leading the 14 Advancing Players
Created (9/21/2024 1:50:38 AM by Anthony Thompson)

A lengthy day of action was played to its conclusion at the MSPT Season 15 Sycuan Showdown Series $1,110 Main Event as the hard stop of 14 players was reached with 37:17 remaining in Level 17.

The second of three flights drew 135 entries to bring the two-day total thus far to 182.

Of those 135 entries, only 14 players remained when chips went into bags with Luke Nguyen breaching the half-milly mark putting 560,000 in his bag to end the night, which is good enough for the overall chip lead thus far.

Nguyen hit his stride in the later levels, much like Sukhdip Sangha (515,000), Chris Takata (469,000), Lena Evans (466,000), & Tim Acker (462,000), who rounded out the top five stacks in a tight race of the second flight.

WPT champ Matt Salsberg (221,000), MSPT Hall of Famer Matt Kirby (232,000), and two-time bracelet winner Erick Lindgren (56,000) are just a few more of the players to add their names to the Day 2 roster along with the five players who have already advanced from Day 1a.

The final starting flight will get underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. local time, and it will be the last chance for players to punch their ticket into Sunday's Day 2.

Late registration and re-entries will remain open through Level 12 (approximately 10:40 p.m.) Make sure to tune in to see who makes it through to Day 2.
