Sinan Shathaya Bags Overall Chip Lead After 21 Players Survive Day 1C

Day 1c of the MSPT Season 15 Sycuan Showdown Series $1,110 Main Event is in the books after drawing 192 entries, the biggest field of all three starting flights, bringing the overall field up to 374.

At the end of the third and final flight, just 21 players bagged and tagged with Sinan Shathaya sitting atop the counts.

Shathaya sat atop the counts for most of the day and was able to spin-up a whopping 1,070,000 stack, good enough for the overall chip lead.

Others to bag big stacks where Bret Eberhart (672,000), Jeremy Kottler (628,000), Justin Muse (421,000), & Whit Brayton (415,000), as they were rounded out the top five stacks.

They were joined by Kyle Miholich (348,000), Ron Scott (340,000), Adrian Lopez (281,000), Daria Ivantey (176,000), and Sherry Hammers (96,000).

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 40 (5 from Day 1a, 14 from 1b, and 21 from 1c) – will return at 11:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, September 22nd to play down to a winner.

"From Being the Bubble to Busting the Bubble"

Action on the table folded to Day 1a bubble boy Kyle Miholich who raised to 100,000 from the small blind and Stefan Delorenzo looked down at his cards and called off his shorter stack from the big blind.

Delorenzo rolled over a dominating hand, but a jack appeared in the window on flop to put Miholich in the lead.

The turn did give Delorenzo some more outs with a Broadway draw, but the completed the board on the river, making him the final elimination of the night while Miholich celebrated by saying, “From being the bubble boy to busting bubble”.

Jeremy Kottler raised to 16,000 from late position and then called Ryan Stiner’s 67,000 three-bet jam from the small blind.

Astivan Batoo raised from middle position and Ryan Stiner defended his big blind to see a flop.

Stiner check-called a 32,000 continuation bet from Batoo and the dealer paired the board with the on the turn.

All the chips went into the middle with Stiner holding an effective 61,000 stack.
