Cory Nazaruk Leads Final 38 Players into Day 2

Day 1c was the final starting flight of the MSPT Season 16 $1,110 Main Event at Hollywood Casino and attracted a final 337 runners, which, along with 1a's 96 and 1b’s 243, brought the total field up to 676 entries, shattering the $300k guarantee.

The impressive field generated a $655,720 prize pool, paying out a minimum of $1,957, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $131,258 first-place prize.

At the end of the third and final flight, just 38 players bagged and tagged, with Cory Nazaruk leading the final survivors with 836,000.

After a rough day, MSPT Hall of Famer Gerald Cunniff was able to put a respectable 760,000 in his bag to end the night, while Bill Byrnes burst the bubble to end with 696,000.

Rounding out the top five stacks were Brian Craig (584,000) and Stephen Green (521,000), as they were the only other to bag north of 500k.

Others who survived the third and final flight included Paul Fehlig (305,000), MSPT champ Lee Rzentkowski (252,000),two-time MSPT champ Angela Jordison (228,000), Steven Dill (188,000), and Mike Hurley (116,000).

Among those to try and fall on Day 1c included Patrick Ray, Donald Stanley, Martin Kinder, Marvin Donaldson, and two-time MSPT champ Mark Collins, just to name a few.

The surviving players from all three flights – of which there are 76 (11 from Day 1a, 27 from 1b, and 38 from 1c) – will return at 11:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, August 24th, to play down to a winner.

With action on the big blind, they tossed out a call only to fold after Rzentkowski went over the top.

MSPT Champ Jeff Copeland Claims the Seniors Event!

Over the past week, players have been inside the Hollywood Casino in St. Louis, MO, duking it out for their MSPT Season 16 Gold Card Festival Series!

In Event #4: $300 Seniors (50+) Monster Stack NLH, saw 325 strolling hunters take to the trenches, and generated a $79,625 prize pool that was divided out between the top 36 seniors.

Among those to cash but fall before the final table were Christopher Record (10th Place - $1,346), Roger Bennett (13th Place - $1,075), Hal Kirkpatrick (18th Place - $916), Mark Smith (21st Place - $836), and Bradley Sjostrom (25th Place - $581).

In the end, it was none other than MSPT champ Jeff Copeland who strolled away the top senior, earning the outright win to go along with his first Gold Card!
