Day 1c of the MSPT Riverside $1,110 Main Event is in the books after recording 358 entries, which along with 1a's 74 and 1b’s 240 brought the total field up to 672 total entries, shattering the $300k guarantee.
The field generated a $650,340 prize pool, and the top 72 players will get paid a minimum of $2,126, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $133,320 first-place prize, along with the Main Event trophy.
At the end of the third and final flight, just 42 players bagged and tagged with two-time MSPT champ Ken Baime finding himself atop the chip counts with 699,000, goof enough for the overall chip lead.
Baime went on a late-night heater to jump MSPT champ Mo Nuwwarah (466,000), Mike Gartner (463,000), William Luciano (409,000), and Jesse Green (399,000), who rounded out the top five.
They were joined by Sarah Stafan (381,000), MSPT champ’s Ken Pates (380,000) & David Gonia (372,000), Mike Estes (321,000), and Jessica Anderson (303,000).
All surviving players from the starting flights – of which there are 81 (8 from Day 1a, 31 from 1b, and 42 from 1c) – will return at 11:00 a.m. local time Sunday, March 17th to play down to a winner.
The MSPT live reporting crew will be on the floor throughout the remainder of the tournament to provide updates, so keep it here to catch the action!
