Jeremy Dresch Bags Overall Chip Lead As 36 Advance From Day 1B Of MSPT Canterbury Park
Created (4/28/2019 1:52:33 AM by Admin System)

Day 1B of MSPT Canterbury Park saw 266 players hit the felt, and combined with the 184 players from Day 1A, brought the total number of entries to 450. 45 of those players will be walking home with a share of the prize pool, with a min-cash worth $2,392, while the winner will walk home with $95,700. After fifteen levels of play, only 36 will be returning tomorrow, with two-time MSPT champ Jeremy Dresch in good position to shoot for his third title after bagging 422,000 to take the overall chip lead into Day 2.

Others to bag a big stack include Stuart Luhm (296,500), Matthew Hamilton (284,500), Randy Bullen (283,000), and Sammy Aweida (272,000). More notable bags include Muneer Ahmed (214,000), DJ Buckley (195,000), Brad Sailor (190,500), Ben Wiora (179,000), Steve Federspiel (157,500), Rob Wazwaz (144,000), Todd Melander (73,000), Tom Stambaugh (61,500), and Joe Barnard (51,000).

Of course, not everyone managed to navigate the field to find a Day 2 bag. Some of those unable to survive include MSPT Hall of Famer Rich Alsup, three-time MSPT champ Blake Bohn, former MSPT Regional champs Saad Ghanem and Craig Trost, Iowa’s Ron McMillen, former MSPT champs Rodger Johnson, Jeff Birt, Mark Sandness, Brian Hou, Jason Seitz, Joe Matheson, Season 6 MSPT POY Mark Hodge, Minnesota Poker Hall of Famer Mike Schneider, and Travis Sweet.

Day 2 will kick off tomorrow at 11 AM with 59 players returning (23 from Day 1A, 36 from Day 1B) and the field will play down to a winner. The final table will be streamed with hole cards on a fifteen-minute delay on both Twitch and right here at MSPTpoker.com. As always, all of the action can also be found right here on the blog, so be sure to tune in tomorrow to find out who will walk away with the MSPT Canterbury Park title!
