Michael Giardina Leads 37 Flight B Survivors at the MSPT Black Hawk Main Event

There were a total of 297 entries during Flight B at the MSPT Black Hawk Main Event on Friday at the Bally’s Black Hawk Casino. By the end of play just 37 advanced to Day 2 on Sunday, January 29. The chip leader at the end of play was Michael Giardina with a stack of 616,000. Giardina was at the top of the leader board for most of the day, and he took out multiple players on his way to the top of the flight standings

Rounding out the top three chip stacks were Aaron Johnson who bagged up 477,000, and Roger Low with 375,000. Other notables that bagged up chips on the day were DJ Alexander (350,000), David Gonia (339,000), Kane Lai (241,000), Jared Ingles (196,000), Barb Visher (194,000), Jason Mendoza (184,000), Ashley Warren (138,000), and Thomas Schultz (80,000).

Notables that busted out of play today, but still have a chance to re-enter tomorrow included Jason Blount, David Levi, Eric Smidinger, Steve Wilkie, Madeline Robinson, Ranae Rodriguez, and Kate Hubert. Registration is open for re-entry until the start of Level 13 on Saturday until 9:10 pm.

Flight C begins tomorrow at Noon, and the field will play down to 12% of the remaining players from the total entries, or the end of Level 15, whichever comes first. There are now 59 players that have advanced from the first two flights from 481 total entries.

Jeremy Pekarek Takes One Out

The board read when a player in middle position got all in with K-Q in the hole, and Jeremy Pekarek had him covered holding on the small blind.

The river was dealt , and Pekarek eliminated his opponent to stack up 149,000 after collecting the pot.

There was a few thousand in the pot, and the flop read when Brent Vaughn got all in with in the hole from the button. Michael Giardina had him covered holding UTG+1.

The turn and river were dealt , and Vaughn doubled up to survive with 94,000. Giardina was still cruising with 215,000 after the hand.
