Created (1/31/2025 1:07:13 AM by Anthony Thompson)

Day 1a of the second-ever MSPT 100 GRAND STACK $1,110 Main Event has come to an end at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino with the opening flight tallying 314 entries to kick things off.

With action needing to play down to 11% of the field, almost full 17 levels were needed to hit that mark with the hard stop being reached with 18:20 remaining at 20,000/30,000/30,000.

When chips finally went into bags, it was Wisconsin native Corey Wick who found himself atop the chip counts leading the 34 advancing players after putting a respectable 2,705,000 on his slip to end the night, edging out Kirby Rogers (2,195,000), and Jeremy Zullo (2,145,000) as they were the only other to clip the two-milly mark.

2025 MSPT Icon Kyna England

Ronald Bauer (1,805,000) & Nerijus Kvedaras (1,700,000) round out the top five stacks of the flight while 2021 MSPT Player of the Year Kyna England (1,510,000), Darcy Dalen (1,040,000), and Christie Yau (1,035,000) all passed the milly marker for Day 2.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Chad Holloway

Coming in just under a million was WSOP bracelet winner Chad Holloway (970,000), Umesh Babusukomar (880,000), and Stephen Smith (875,000) all punched their ticket into Sunday’s Day 2 as well.

MSPT Hall of Famer Chris Moon

Among those to try and fall on Day 1a included MSPT Hall of Famer Chris Moon, WSOP bracelet winner Brad Jansen, Melissa Bartelme, David Gutfreund, and MSPT champ Curtis Vierstraete, just to name a few.

MSPT Champ Curtis Vierstraete

Those players, as well as any newcomers, have two more starting flights to jump back into action.

The surviving players from each flight will then return at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to play down to a winner.
