Day 1d of the MSPT $3,000,000 Guaranteed Mid-Season Championship at The Venetian recorded an outstanding 1,594 entries, which combined with the entries from the three previous flights, wrapped up with 4,345 entries blowing away the $3,000,000 guarantee and coming just shy of the 4,411 entrants in last year’s event.
192 players made it out of today’s flight, and added in with the other 308 players from the first three starting flights, means that an even 500 players will return for Day 2 action, with 450 slated to get paid. Payout information will be released in the morning.
Germany’s Marvin Rettenmaier ran away the Day 1d and overall chip lead, putting away 653,000 in chips. This just edges out Day 1b chip leader Cody Bell’s 635,000. Other top chip stacks include Aaron Mermelstein (503,000), David Thomas (451,000), Jeremy Felicetti (450,500), and Ren Lin (431,500).
Other notables advancing out of Day 1d include Mohammad “Sheddy” Siddiqui (360,000), Jessica Dawley (279,000), Michael Sanders (249,500), Anthony Spinella (222,500), Felipe Davila (172,000), Bruce Kramer (167,000), Connor Drinan (162,000), Loki Abboud (97,000) and Moshin Charania (88,000).
Unfortunately, we will not be joined on Friday by a large group of players who did not escape the Day 1d flight. Former MSPT Champions Mike Itoafa, Dan Hendrickson, Ian Matakis, MSPT Hall of Famer Kou Vang, three-time MPST Champions Blake Bohn and Matt Kirby, Season 9 MSPT Champion Chris Meyers and former MSPT Venetian Champion Jordan Young.
Other notables not advancing include Matt Affleck, Martin Jacobson, Felipe Davila, Kenny Hallaert, Chino Rheem, Joseph Choeng, Ralph and Aaron Massey, Kristen Bicknell, Will Failla, John Dolan, Chris Conrad, Joe Tehan, Dan Heimiller, Joe Kuether, Simon Deadman, Vincent Moscati, David Inselberg, Sammy Aweida, Molly Mossey, Mo Nuwwarah, Marc Ladouceur, Barry Hutter, and Alex Winter.
